Why do so many accomplished actors and performers hail from, or live in Oak Park and River Forest?
Part of the answer is the close proximity to the Chicago theater and film industry, and the supportive environment here that bring entertainers (and many others) to our villages.
Another answer can be found on the main stage at the Oak Park River Forest High School auditorium, where Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Dan Castellaneta, and Kathy Griffin all captivated audiences under the tutelage of a respected theater program.
Active local community theater groups have also offered many opportunities for young actors to learn their craft. And Chicago’s strong theater scene also has provided a breeding ground for these young performers.
